Baimiweng Fort is also called Holland Castle, which is located on high ground to the west of Keelung harbor; this was the harbor’s first western line of defense and is now a city heritage site. The fort is a long type fort, originally having four guns, and is divided into the barbette area, command post, and observation post. The guns are no longer in place but the four gun platforms are intact and the remains of the walls can be seen. The observation post is up the stone strips at the side of the pavilion, has dense vegetation overhead and offers fetching views of the blue ocean.
