NuanDong Historic trail (暖東舊道), an important transport link between Tamsui Subprefecture (淡水廳) and Kavalan Subprefecture (噶瑪蘭廳, present-day Yilan County), is one of the minor trails of the DanLan trail (淡蘭古道). The trail was restored in the 1990s and has since provided a unique hiking experience for both local and visiting walkers.
