This was originally a dock building owned by the NYK Line during the Japanese colonial period; today it is one of the ten most important historic buildings in Keelung. Managed by Yang Min Marine Co. today, the museum's mission is to reuse the historic building and display Keelung Harbor's historical relics. With themes from different periods and diverse oceanic culture resources, visitors are given an understanding of Keelung's harbor city culture. Moreover, the museum is located on the left side of Keeling Station; YM Oceanic Culture & Art Museum is the first civil museum in Keelung. Reconstructed in 2003, it was an important construction of the wharf on the west coast during Japanese ruling time, so it connotes a special meaning. In order to pass along oceanic culture, it has infused new oceanic horizons into the historic spit based on oceanic culture and humanistic art. Its interior decoration is magnificent and a place worth to visit.
