Fisheries Research Institute, Council of Agriculture founded in 1929 is to promote the development of fisheries, aquaculture, and seafood processing in Taiwan. The headquarters is located in Keelung and there are six centers nationwide to respond to the technology R&D. The purposes of the fisheries exhibition located in Keelung are to enhance public understanding and to promote resources conservation of the marine environment. The gallery of the exhibition contains freshwater and saltwater aquariums, specimen, and artifacts with information on fisheries development in Taiwan.
