The Cave of Buddha's Light is located in the Hongdanshan Trail. It was originally a bat cave. The cave is extremely spacious and tall. The top of the cave is a huge rock sloping down. Currently, the cave is enshrined to the statue of Guanyin. It has a white Maitreya Buddha at the entrance of the cave, and it is the largest cave temple in Taiwan. The cave can accommodate nearly 1,000 people. It served as an air-raid shelter for Keelung citizens during World War II. It is speculated that bats migrated because of the Bed mats in the cave.
