Qidu Nanxing Market food circle

Qidu Nanxing Market food circle revolves from Zizhi Street, extending towrds the periphery of Qidu Market to Chongzhi Street and Nanxing Road. There are many snack stalls in the food circle, and the snacks they sell are not only distinctive, but also very low-priced and affordable, such as Qidu stinky kway teow, curry noodles, Miaokou omelette, chicken nuggets noodles, sandwiches, milkfish, etc; these are all classic dishes that people are full of praise for. If you’re looking for breakfast early in the morning in Qidu Market, the "Fried Omelette" next to Qidu Temple will be your best choice! The scallion omelet at this stall is many students’ favorite. The chef first deep-fries the pancake in the pan before adding eggs on top of it. The eggs can be either fully cooked or half-cooked depending on your choice. To start your day with vitality, have a golden and crispy omelet plus soy sauce and sweet and spicy sauce for breakfast!
In addition, when it comes to famous delicacies in Qidu Market, you must not miss the well-known "Stinky Kway Teow". In fact, it is just like the famous Taiwanese snack stinky tofu. Although it smells, it tastes quite good. The soup made with pig skulls is the source of its special taste. The Hakka kway teow which fully absorbs the essence of the rich and refreshing soup tastes chewy and smooth. The chili sauce made by the restaurateur makes the flavor even stronger. Also, the side dishes in the store are not sloppy at all! The oily tofu, pork mouth, and radishes are the icing on the cake.
Next is the "Curry Noodles" on Kaiyuan Road, another must-eat in this area. The chef uses great ingredients, such as udon noodles with a springy texture which absorb the soup better, and the crisp and refreshing bean sprouts; lastly, a scoop of curry stir-fried with minced meat, shallots, and various Chinese herbs is added on top. The curry of this stall tastes strong-flavored, slightly spicy, and just excellent. It is a delicacy that even local people in Keelung would enjoy very much. Although Qidu District is far away from the city center, there are quite a lot of delicious food hidden here. You can find various traditional Taiwanese snacks here, such as tofu pudding, stinky tofu, rice noodle soup, nutritious sandwiches, Dongshan duck head, etc. Besides binge eating seafood, next time when you come to Keelung, you might as well visit "Qidou Nanxing Market" to satisfy your taste buds!
