In the early days, the immigrants from Changzhou and Chuanzhou scuffled for their territory resulting in tremendous deaths and injuries. Afterward, both sides felt regret and consulted to build Laodagong tomb, which has been renamed as Laodagong Temple. On the 1st day of the lunar 7th month each year, when the ghost gate is open, the sensational ritual is to be held to worship the deaths. Due to this activity, Laodagong has earned its name island-wide for the Pudu in the 7th month of the lunar calendar.
