Sino-French War Memorial Tablet is a historic site which is next to Zhongzheng Rd. of Zhongzeng District. The Sino-French War is also called Chinese-French War, which occurred between the Qing Dynasty and France for Vietnam. France attacked Keelung in 1884; the war lasted about eight months and was catastrophic for both sides. Therefore, there is a French Cemetery and a National Heroes' Cemetery, which is called Sino-French War Memorial Park. On Zhongzheng Road, down the hill from Ershawan Fort, is the National Heroes' Monument, commemorating the Qing soldiers killed in action during the Sino-French War. Not far from there is the French Cemetery, the burial place of French soldiers who died in the war. Together, these two sites from the Sino-French War Memorial Park, both Chinese and French witness a war that occurred more than a century ago.
